I began hosting my first website in October 1997, when the Internet as we know it today was still very young. In fact, my first website was a Pepsi fan site in 1995, before Internet Explorer or Netscape were even available. (Gopher was the standard for information retrieval, but Mosaic, the first graphical browser was starting to become popular.)
In December, 1999, we started offering complete hosting packages under the new name GetWebspace.com. By March of 2000, we had two dedicated servers in Dialtone Internets data center in Fort Lauderdale.
Three years later, we now own and host servers right on-site, in a data center in Sioux Falls, SD. The data center has the largest network connectivity in the area, with an OC48 fiber SONET ring providing two completely distinct physical routes to the backbone, even leaving the building at opposite ends!
Because we own and operate our servers in an on-site data center, we can offer a level of support and response hard to find elsewhere. In the event of an emergency, we can physically access the servers in seconds, not hours.
