All OzWebHost server hardware is either leading name factory prepared (eg IBM, VALinux) or custom built in space saving rackmount cases. Our premium service plans are all run on RedHat Linux Operating System, Apache Web Server, Dual Pentium III CPUs, 512 Mb RAM (minimum), Dual Intel EtherExpress 100 NIC (minimum) and fast SCSI or large IDE Hard Drives (subject to plan and usage). All other components, including motherboards and cards are of the highest quality.
Our hardware is maintained and monitored 24 hours a day, with any potential failed components being replaced or repaired on the spot, immediately.
Our data center facility is located in what is arguably the best environment for access to the global IP network. We are in a major east coast US Class A Data Center with every major carrier available to us and a network that ensures your web site/s or content is fast and available to the Americas, UK, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
Our facility is housed in a private cage inside the high security, carrier neutral Equinix IBX [Internet Business Exchange] in Newark, New Jersey, USA. This is a major network access point right on the Internet backbone and has the capacity to allow us to scale up to virtually any level. More than we will ever need.
We are currently connected via two high quality carrier IP networks, Internap & NAC.net [for redundancy], however, we have direct access to all major carriers who peer at this IBX [should it become necessary to change or add to our connection]. We run fiber from our cage less than 300 feet to the N.A.P [Network Access Point]. We can accommodate connection speeds from 10/100 to GigE [Gigabit Ethernet], so no matter what size application or traffic load you have, were sure we can handle it.
We have a Juniper M5 router, Extreme Networks Summit 48 switches and utilise BGP4 [Border Gateway Protocol]. We employ a number of proactive measures to prevent and/or control DDoS attacks [Distributed Denial of Service, SYN floods etc]
