LightHouse Hosting has its corporate headquarters in Princeton NJ. We own and operate all of our own equipment. This is vital to providing proper support and service when hosting your account.
Our overriding theme is, treat our customers the way we would like to be treated. Virtually everyone says thats what they do, but precious few actually accomplish the goal. We have adopted and practice a very successful concept called Customer Intimacy.

When building LightHouse Hosting we decided that a professional hosting company must maintain a professional facility. Extra time and care was taken to build the finest facility available to host our customers web sites. We occupy what we believe is just such a facility.

The Network
We are thrilled to describe to you our network connectivity and proud to announce our partnership with MCI, the nations largest bandwidth provider, the backbone of the internet.
LightHouse Hosting networking services are designed to ensure that your Web presence is operational and available 24x7.365. Our network strategy is designed to provide customers with outstanding levels of throughput and reliability, while maximizing efficiency and eliminating single points of failure. LightHouses internal data center network is designed for complete fault tolerance and no single points of failure.
The MCI North American network consists of bi-directional OC-192, OC-48, OC-12 and DS-3 trunks which are reinforced with OC-12 ATM metro rings in 10 metropolitan multi-hub areas. The LightHouse data center has four (4) OC-12s via MCI connected to the Elmsford Megahubs (NYC8 and NYC9).
The difference with LightHouse is that we are on the backbone, not connected to it. We are not a Point Of Presence (POP) rather our data center is an MCI CAP center supporting the MCI megahubs.

Our carrier guarantees 100\% IP network availability, 99\% or better packet delivery and 55-millisecond round-trip latency in the United States.
Windows® Server Platform
We offer the latest dual Intel® Pentium® processors, RAID 5 level servers running Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server operating the Internet Information System (IIS) Version 6.0. Each of these servers operates with a minimum of 1Gb of RAM and dual hot swap power supplies. Running along with Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Our Windows® servers support Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.NET, Visual Basic Scripting, and Server Side Includes (SSI).
Microsoft® FrontPage® extensions are available on all of our Windows servers. We currently support FrontPage® 2000 server extensions and FrontPage® version 2002. We are certified Microsoft® Web Presence providers (WPP) for both the 2000 extensions and also the new version 2002 extensions.
Installed on all our Windows servers are SSL certificates issued by Comodo offered for sites that wish to conduct e-commerce solutions without the cost of purchasing their own certificate.
Linux Server Platform
Our second server option includes Dual Intel® Xenon® Processor platforms running the latest Red Hat Linux Professional Apache-US-SSL Secure Server Edition.
Each of our deluxe Linux systems has a minimum of 1Gb of RAM and are RAID 5 compliant systems offering over 100Gb disk storage and dual hot swap power supplies.
FrontPage® extensions are also available on all of our Linux servers. We currently support FrontPage® 2002 server extensions operating on these servers. These extensions are also compatible with 2000 extensions.
Our Linux systems offer PHP, Perl, mySQL, and SSI, SSL certificates issued by Thawte are also offered on our Linux Systems.
SMTP/POP3 Mail Servers
Our POP3/SMTP/IMAP servers are run from dual Intel® Xenon® RAID 5 servers running Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server. Our mail software is an industry standard full-featured SMTP/POP3/IMAP4 server with a professional self managed web-mail service.
Available on our mailservers are POP3 accounts, unlimited alias, autoresponders, mail forwards, mail copy, executables, filters, full featured listservers, logging, and spam protection.
We also have free on-line, web-based e-mail and administrative control panels. With your mailbox name and password, you can access your e-mail through our website without the need for a mail client such as Microsoft. Manage your mail accounts without the need for technical support.
DNS Servers
Our DNS servers are run from multiple dual Intel® Pentium® servers running Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server with dual hot swap power supplies. Our DNS systems are configured as a single primary with a hot spare, and dual secondaries boasting ultra high availability.
Catalyst Switches
Our primary rack switches are Cisco Catalyst 2900 Series XL Switches featuring Nonblocking EtherChannel® architecture that support wire-speed bridging on all ports delivering up to 400 Mbps forward bandwidth and 550,000-pps aggregate throughput. All XL switches feature Gigabit Ethernet Uplinks.
Firewall Systems
Our firewall servers are Intel® Xenon® RAID 5 Linux servers running Red Hat Professional, iptables, and Checkpoint Firewall Software®.
