Founded in June 1996 by an emerging group of professionals set upon a common goal of providing quality network services to you, our customer. Our routing equipment consists of state of the art Cisco and 3COM equipment. They were chosen specifically because of their ability to handle web and content traffic a lot smoother than other equipment.
CIFNet's equipment in Chicago has been installed in secure telco-grade Data Center facilities, where public access is strictly forbidden. Access to our cages and cabinets is restricted only to those holding CIFNet access cards. Data Center have been engineered to avoid any single point of failure in our connectivity, power, or HVAC. Power systems in data center are designed to run uninterrupted. All servers, routers, switches and other equipment are fed with conditioned UPS that will run if utility power fails. In the event of an extended power outage, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely. All four generators are regulary tested to ensure their ability to function at any time should the need arise.
All air is circulated and filtered to remove dust and contaminants. The data center's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant to ensure that there is a secondary system in place to take over the primary. An advanced fire-suppression system is in place to prevent any fire from spreading.
