It is our mission to provide small businesses the same opportunities afforded large corporations in the global market. By providing our clients with world class web hosting solutions, the tools for successful e-commerce, and expedient support to help them utilize those tools, we give them access to geographical markets that they would not have been able to reach otherwise.
We recognize that our most expedient path to financial success is by helping everyone we deal with to prosper. To that end, we aim to provide these services with competitive pricing that allows us to lower the cost of global business for our customers, fairly compensate employees, ensure our investors interests are secure, and fund continuing growth.
Company history
Advantagecom Networks, Inc. is the new name for a company founded by Andrew Kinney in December of 1995. Originally, the business was a sole proprietorship by the name of Advantage Communication Enterprises, but was changed to a corporation on March 10, 1999. The name change was made official on July 1, 1999.
Andrew recognized the power of the Internet and was determined to make it work for him. He sold various products and services exclusively over the Internet from the first day of operations. In September of 1996, Amy Kinney joined in the ownership of the business. The monthly revenues of Advantage Communication Enterprises grew steadily between December, 1995 and August, 1998. It was not, by any stretch, a large amount of money, but nevertheless it took tremendous amounts of hard work and dedication to achieve.
In all that time, the largest expense happened to be web hosting services. Also, the companies that provided the web hosting services tended to be very unreliable and lacking in expertise to effectively provide the services they were being paid to provide. If one small business was consistently having problems with web hosting providers, then it stood to reason that there were many more small businesses out there looking for something better.
The only thing that stood in the way of Advantage Communication Enterprises from providing web hosting services was a lack of financing. Given the meager revenues of past years, no banks would consider them for financing. Determined not to let something like that stand in his way, Andrew decided to plan the foundation of a web hosting service that would solve the problems many small businesses faced when dealing with web hosting companies. He then estimated what it would cost to provide this service and worked the figures backwards to determine exactly how much needed to be spent on marketing to raise that amount of money. In September of 1998, Advantage Communication Enterprises began preselling this service to determine market responsiveness and raise operating capital. They managed to raise about $10,000, which was enough to begin operations.
In October, 1998, their highly successful web hosting service was launched and became their sole source of revenue. Their web hosting services have since proven to be the features/price ratio leader in their field.
Today, we have Advantagecom Networks, Inc. and the future is limitless.
