We offer 2 main types of colocation:
Rack space with a specified monthly transfer limit
This is for single servers that take up 1 or more rack units. This is ideal for small scale hosting or corporate servers.
Rack space with a specified maximum data rate
This is for multiple servers. This is ideal for small hosting companies or corporations that have a need for more than just server space.
Both service plans come with the following:
Initial physical installation and cabling of hardware
Periodic server reboots by our support staff as necessary and basic connectivity troubleshooting during regular business hours
One 100Mbit/sec full duplex fast ethernet switch port with the specified data transfer or maximum data rate for Internet connectivity
Optical backbone connectivity to major IP carriers
Hundreds of Gigabits per second capacity available to our facility through unlit fiber optics terminated at our facility
One IP address (more may be added for additional cost)
DNS for the main site on the server (primary and secondary)
Basic firewalling (not dedicated, not customizable)
Physical space as defined by the specific plan chosen. Includes heating, cooling, and up to 20 amps of electrical service
Battery and Generator backed up power
The following are NOT included with the basic service plans, but may be added for additional cost (see service add-on table below):
Hardware to be used in provided space (servers, ethernet hub/switch, tape backup systems, etc.). We provide sources for rack mountable hardware for retail purchase (see below) or you may want to consider purchasing the server of your choice from us. If you dont want to own a server, you can rent a server designed to your specifications from us (see the add-on services table below).
General technical support (see below for included aspects of support)
DNS entries for sites other than the main site on the server (primary and secondary)
Additional IP addresses
Additional installation and cabling beyond initial setup
Dedicated firewalling (fully customizable)
Data backup to tape
Additional 20 amp electrical circuits

General technical support (an add-on service)
General technical support includes best effort resolution to software, hardware, server configuration, DNS, and network issues encountered in the course of using the co-location service. Best effort means that we will do whatever we can to help you resolve the issues, but there will be some things that are not within our realm of knowledge or control that we may not be able to resolve. It should be noted that our areas of expertise are Linux, FreeBSD, Cobalt, and other Unix-like operating systems, though we do have some limited experience with other operating systems in a server environment. General technical support can be provided on an unlimited incident per month basis or on a per incident basis. Server reboots and basic network troubleshooting (pings, traceroutes, backbone routing issues) are included with the co-location service and do not require the purchase of the technical support add-on service.
About additional data transfer
Additional data transfer is billed in arrears in full 1GB increments. For instance, the bill you receive on March 1 would reflect additional data transfer for month of February. Real time data transfer statistics are available upon request to help you manage your bandwidth costs. If you are concerned about variable bills, we can limit your data transfer by placing a bandwidth limit on your server at your request.
Equipment purchases and leasing
For a quote to purchase a rack mountable server, please contact our sales staff. You can buy direct from the manufacturer or you can buy from us.
The equipment you purchase should be rack mountable. We highly recommend the following manufacturers:

Advantagecom Networks offers inexpensive domain registration services.
Pricing is a flat $14.95 per year per domain name. Management of registered domains is through the eNom system. You can pay for the domain names by credit card, PayPal, E-Gold, or check. Click here to go to this site.
For those of you that have registered domain names through one of our partner web sites with Register.com, those methods of domain registration have been phased out by Register.com. Furthermore, we have discontinued our relationship with Register.com for failure on their part to pay commissions due Advantagecom or even answer questions within 60 days of them being asked. For these reasons, we can no longer recommend Register.com. Any domain names you already have registered through them will continue to be serviced by them until such time as you deem it necessary to transfer your domain to a new registrar. Reseller Partner Discount Levels
There are three partner levels that each have increasing discounts and privileges based upon how many accounts youve resold.
Reseller: With 0 to 4 active accounts resold, you qualify for a 5\% discount and can sell the predefined plans with some limited customizations available.
Gold Reseller: With 5 to 9 active accounts resold, you qualify for a 20\% discount and creation of one custom designed hosting plan that you can sell in addition to the many predefined plans.
Platinum Reseller: With 10 or more accounts resold, you qualify for an additional 1\% discount for each additional 10 active accounts you sell over 10 with a maximum total discount of 30\%. For example, after you have sold 20 active accounts, your total discount would be 21\%. If you sold 110 or more active accounts, your discount would be 30\%. Platinum resellers are also allowed to work with us to create up to 10 custom designed hosting plans in addition to the many predefined plans available.
Special Notes
It should be noted that this reseller partner program only encompasses the resale of VDS, LSVDS, and any custom hosting plans you may create. Other accounts are not integrated with this system. Discount level is evaluated monthly and is based on the volume of active accounts at the time of the evaluation.
Custom hosting plan creation involves close collaboration with a member of our staff to ensure that the hosting plan you design fits within reasonable design parameters and is priced appropriately based on the resources included in the plan. The custom hosting plan you design will be available to you and only you through the reseller partner system. No other resellers will have access to your custom plan through their stores.
Recommended Business Strategy
While you can make a profit by reselling hosting all by itself, you can increase your profits by providing value added services like advertising, marketing, web design, programming, web site/server management, custom software, or other services included with your hosting plans. If you havent already considered this, we highly recommend that you find a niche market to ensure your success. An example of a niche market would be turn-key web sites and hosting for fire, police, and security services. By finding a niche market that youre very familiar with, youll be much more likely to make the initial sale and retain the customer over the long term. Just be careful that you dont make it so specific that there arent enough potential customers to make it a viable focus.
Application Review and Approval
Your reseller partner application will be reviewed by a real human before your reseller account is setup, so please allow 2 business days for processing.
We reserve the right to reject any application. The most common reasons for rejection of an application are failure to provide a functional URL or the URL provided is not in any way related to the sale of hosting services. If you are just getting started selling hosting services, we recommend you setup your web site before applying to be an Advantagecom VPS/VDS reseller partner. This will save you from the hassle of reapplying because your web site was not ready.

Dedicated Hardware Nodes Available for Purchase
As a reseller partner, you also have the option to purchase a dedicated hardware node. Reseller partners that purchase dedicated hardware nodes are allowed to create up to 30 custom hosting plans in addition to the number of custom hosting plans allowed by your reseller partner level. This gives you an additional level of control that you would not have otherwise. For instance, since the entire node would be dedicated to you, youd have access to all accounts on that hardware through one central shell account in addition to the reseller control center. Also, you would have a lot more flexibility when designing your accounts since your plans would not have to be constrained to the design requirements we place on plans that reside on our other hardware nodes. Furthermore, a dedicated hardware node isolates your customers from our customers allowing you to determine your own acceptable number of accounts to place on the server.
If you are interested in getting a dedicated hardware node, simply check the box near the end of the application form to indicate that you want a dedicated hardware node and fill in the description field with your requirements for that hardware node. Well get back to you by email with a custom quote or contact you if we need more information to create the quote. Minimum up-front out of pocket expense is $2300 and would include six months of hosting a 1.7GHz Celeron with software license for unlimited VPS accounts and 30GB/mo data transfer.
