On 7th May 2007, Cortex, a telecommunications and service providers, pronounced its latest release, Cortex Release 7.0, features improvements and also provides support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 and SharePoint Services v3.0. Cortex also supports Exchange 2003, Exchange 2007 and mixed mode Exchange 2003/2007 environments. The Cortex 7.0 will not create virtual servers for SharePoint. The system will instead retrieve a list of available virtual servers from the SharePoint server; this is then specified in the SharePoint package and all sites provisioned will be created on this site.
"Much of the development work in Cortex v7 has focused on easing the migration to Exchange 2007. We believed this to be the biggest challenge for service providers wanting to upgrade to the latest version of Exchange. Users can be upgraded and moved across to 2007 with a few clicks. We are also working on a migration tool which will make it even easier to move entire customers' organisations to Exchange 2007. The new reports were developed with input from a number of our customers in order to alleviate some of the current billing issues, and further streamline the process of service delivery," claimed Colin Williams, Development Manager of EMSCortex.
