On October 25, 2007, automation solutions provider Pacific Control Systems (pacificcontrols.net) announced that it has become the first Platinum rated green building accredited by the US Green Building Council LEED program (usgbc.org/leed) in the Middle East and sixteenth in the world. The company also inaugurated its headquaarters in Techno Park, Dubai.

The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates and executive chairman of Dubai Holding, inaugurated the building while Sandy Wiggins, chairman of the USGBC, delivered the keynote address at the event. The award winning building has achieved LEED certification from the USGBC, accumulating a total of 55 points.

"We are proud to unveil our headquarters today," claimed Dilip Rahulan, chairman and CEO of Pacific Controls. "Our headquarter building is built in line with our commitment to the UAE government's drive towards achieving sustainable development in the region. It is our belief that our initiative will set a new benchmark for other green development projects in the UAE and elsewhere, demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility."

In his concluding statement during the inauguration, Rahulan said that Pacific Controls is now looking beyond Platinum green buildings and will pioneer the process of building the world’s first "living building" as its research and development center in Dubai.
