On October 22, 2007, data center industry association AFCOM (afcom.com) has appointed executives from Nortel and Fujifilm USA to the board of its Data Center Institute. Paul Greenley, global data center manager for Nortel and Rich Gadomski, VP of marketing, recording media division for Fujifilm USA were appointed to the board.
Greenly brings more than 27 years of data center operations experience and runs Nortel's global data center operations in Raleigh, North Carolina, London, Paris, Toronto and Ottawa, Canada and Beijing, China. Gadomski is a 16-year veteran of the data storage industry and joined Fujifilm USA in 2003, made responsible for marketing, product planning, sales promotion, advertising, public relations and strategic long-term planning for the division, said AFCOM.
"The mission of the Data Center Institute is to forecast and explore the issues impacting the data center for the benefit of the entire industry," said Jill Eckhaus, AFCOM CEO and Data Center Institute board chair. "Adding these two esteemed and experienced industry veterans expands the board's collective expertise and our ability to deliver on this mission. Their contribution will be invaluable."
Formed in 2001, AFCOM’s Data Center Institute is a think tank composed of forward-thinking data center managers, solution providers and industry leaders, whose charter is to identify and examine issues and trends affecting the data center and provide thought leadership to the industry and media.
