On October 15, 2007, telecommunications provider Level 3 Communications (level3.com) announced that it is offering the Level 3 Ecosystem program, a new initiative designed to help Web hosts increase their average revenue per user as well as reduce costs. The program will provide Level 3 Web hosting customers with periodic special offers for hardware, software and services that are targeted to the Web hosting community by third-party vendors.

The company said there are no obligations or purchase requirements for participation, and that it wants to connect its hosting customers with suppliers and vendors who may be able to help them grow their business.

The company sent its first Ecosystem email on October 12, Level 3 included special offers only available to Level 3 customers from a broad range of companies, including SWsoft, vSocial, Fast, First Data, Soholaunch, Ratepoint, NetMagic, Control Scan and RingCentral.
