Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) has recently added new mid-range, high-performance and Ready-To-Go servers to its product portfolio, as well as Foundry's new ServerIron Global Server Load Balancer products that operate at gigabit speeds and beyond.
Urvish Vashi, The Planet's director of product management, commented: "Fast, flexible and reliable is always the name of the game when customers evaluate new technologies. Whether it's absolute high-performance, a mid-range solution or products ready in just an hour, we're working to provide solutions for the most exacting customers. With our size and scale, we complete the equation with SMB pricing."
The three new servers are designed to provide choices in processing power, price and flexibility, meeting the needs of its broad customer base. The Planet has added Dell 840 Kentsfield, next-generation, mid-range performance servers, Dell PowerEdge 2950 Dual Clovertown Servers, less expensive and more flexible, high-performance servers, and Ready-To-Go Opteron Servers, which are now part of its Ready-To-Go server line.
In other Planet news, the company will participate at the SMB Nation 2007 (smbnation.com) conference, held September 29 to October 1 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, Washington. The Planet will highlight its hosted Microsoft Small Business Server solution at Booth 17.
