SoftLayer Technologies (softlayer.com), a dedicated server hosting company, on September 12, 2007 has partnered with testing software developer PassMark Software (passmark.com) to offer hardware testing solution BurnInTest at no-charge to customers.

BurnInTest evaluates the endurance, reliability and stability of all a server's hardware components including its motherboard, CPU, RAM, drive controllers and network cards. SoftLayer will use it to test every server prior to its deployment and customers will receive the results of the hardware certification process. SoftLayer will also preload BurnInTest on every server to enable customers to run their own hardware tests at any time after deployment.
