Server automation and virtualization software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) publicized on September 10, 2007 it is now offering the beta version of its virtualization software for data centers, Virtuozzo 4.0. SWsoft will be demonstrating Virtuozzo 4.0 this week at VMworld (vmware.com/vmworld) in booth 1312 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California.
Unlike many other hardware virtualization solutions, SWsoft Virtuozzo dynamically partitions a single Linux or Windows operating system instance into highly efficient and scalable virtual environments or containers. Virtuozzo is the only virtualization solution that enables dozens to hundreds of containers to immediately and automatically use real hardware, providing exceptional data center efficiency from administrative, ROI and energy-consumption perspectives.
Virtuozzo 4.0's improved OS virtualization technology solves many of the common performance, density, usability and infrastructure compatibility issues that hinder traditional hardware virtualization solutions. A collection of improvements and new features have been added, including enhanced usability, high availability and complete management flexibility.
"We've used Virtuozzo since February 2006 to offer high-performance VPS solutions to thousands of customers, with only a minimal increase in real server resources. We're looking forward to implementing Virtuozzo version 4 and making use of its new features to provide our customers with an even higher level of service," said Andreas Gauger, chairman of 1&1 Internet.
