European IT services provider Fujitsu (fujitsu.com) on September 6, 2007 publicized its collaboration with content management system provider Sitecore (sitecore.net) to provide and offer customers access to global hosting facilities.

Sitecore provides enterprise Web site, portal and intranet software to its 1,200 customers, including Dollar Rent a Car, Siemens, Toshiba, Thrifty and CA. The initial phase of Web hosting and content management will develop into complete software as a service offering.

"Sitecore's rapid growth and global presence implies that the customer demand for flexible hosted solutions is growing in the CMS sphere," said Flemming Kjoeller, director of Fujitsu Solutions Group in Scandinavia. "By cooperating with Sitecore, we gain access to an array of market segments that fit into our strategy to become a worldwide Tier 1 provider. Sitecore's growth in corporate accounts parallels our emphasis and ongoing plans in the corporate marketplace, so it's really a perfect match."

As Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, Fujitsu and Sitecore both use the latest technology from Microsoft including the .NET Framework 3.0, Windows Vista and Microsoft Silverlight.
