Which hosting type to choose and why is Linux kicked Windows out of the hosting game?

There are two different worlds in Hosting which are, Windows OS and Linux Systems.
The Crucial differences between them are:

1.    Supported technologies

You can use Windows with these languages program:
•    .NET scripts
•    Microsoft SQL
•    Microsoft Access databases
•    ASP or ASP.NET scripts

And these Languages Program for Linux:
•    PHP scripts,
•    MySQL databases,
•    Python,
•    XML and many other languages yet to come.

2.    Price
Linux is a free of charge hosting plan and when using Windows it means that you have to pay the cost a lot more than when we’re use Linux.

3.    The open source
People from all around the world are welcome to contribute to its development for Linux, because Linux is an open source code. Linux has become a platform for many new technologies that became widely used in hosting industry because of its extreme versatility; this fact has given Linux the leverage to kick out Windows out of Hosting game. Linux also giving you far more options as a user that Windows does.
Conclusion
Many people even don't know what their page is hosted on. Currently (2006) Linux servers are dominating the hosting world. If you do not need support for Microsoft products or use ASP go for Linux hosting. It is cheaper, and gives you more freedom.
